Working over a Network? AccountEdge Network Edition takes advantage of some key Mac OS X technologies, such as Rendezvous, which will make connecting to your company file across a network much easier and more efficient. As such, the Network Edition is only OS X compatible (minimum 10.2.8).

Supporting Rendezvous will allow AccountEdge Network Edition users to connect to company files without needing to browse a network or mount network drives. When a user opens a company file, the software will discover company files across the network and provide a list of files that can be opened simply by selecting one. There won’t be a need to wrestle with file and folder permissions, remembering to log into and making a connection to a server or using the finder to browse the network for a file.

And here’s another big benefit: the machine that hosts company files can be used as a client. That means no need for a dedicated machine to host company files. The host computer can be the bookkeeper’s iMac or an xServe in the back office.
